Every job has its perils, but some industries' workers face more danger in their day-to-day work than many of us.
Take this arborist in San Bernadino, California. He scaled a tremendous 100-foot palm tree to trim it and ended up clinging for life as he went on a wild ride.
Who needs a roller-coaster when you can be an arborist?
According to Rumble, the man in question scaled the massive tree as a safety measure. It was so tall and thin and leaning so heavily to one side, that it was becoming a potential danger for people living nearby or passing below.
So who you gonna call? Tree surgeons!
Your heart might start to palpitate as soon as you start watching the video. The arborist is slowly moving his way up the crooked palm tree, which is bending at an uncomfortable angle. Even just scaling the thin tree is a danger in itself, let alone trying to do anything else up there.
As you continue watching the nerve-racking footage, the man inches closer and closer to the over-crowded bunch of fronds. Keep a close eye as you can easily miss the quick moment when he cuts the top of the trunk. The head of the palm tree then comes crashing down. You don't have time to watch it fall all the way to the ground as the weight shifts and sends the man — still at the very top of the tree trunk — on a crazy ride.
He swings from right to left holding on for dear life. This toing and froing carries on for longer than expected until it calms down enough for the arborist to calmly continue on with his work of chopping the tree down.
What a job! It would certainly keep adrenaline levels up and never would a day be dull!
But if that would be just too much to handle for a tree surgeon, perhaps this coconut-harvesting robot could be adapted to take over the job.
