Have your say on reinforcing Social Europe and take the opportunity to express your view on the part occupational safety and health (OSH) should play in the European Pillar of Social Rights.
More than ever, COVID-19 has shown the importance of safe and healthy workplaces for a well-functioning society. Whether it is protecting essential workers – from those working in health and care services, in public transport, to those in food production – or reducing risks for teleworkers, or helping to reduce community transmission, OSH is playing a vital role.
The European Pillar of Social Rights (EPSR) states in Principle 10 that workers have the right to a high level of protection of their health and safety at work. However, the Social Scoreboard that is used to measure implementation of the pillar currently lacks any indicator related to the working environment. The European Commission invites all partners to present their views until 30 November 2020 on new policy action or legal initiatives needed on different levels (EU, national, regional, local) and/or pledge concrete commitments as a Member State, region, city or organisation level towards implementing the Pillar.
